Gerald’s Jewelry Special Orders and Customs Policy
At Gerald’s Jewelry, special orders and custom designs are created or sourced specifically for you. Because these pieces are made to your specifications or brought in at your request, they require a fifty percent (50%) non-refundable deposit to begin and are considered non-returnable.
The remaining balance is due upon completion. Final payment confirms your acceptance of the design, materials, and craftsmanship as presented.
Any structural modifications, design alterations, or changes requested after approval and deposit may incur additional labor and material fees. Certain designs—such as eternity bands, alternative metals, or highly intricate settings—may have sizing limitations, which will be explained prior to production.
Our team works closely with you throughout the process to ensure clarity and confidence at every stage. If you have questions about timelines, deposits, or adjustments, we are always happy to walk you through the details before work begins.
When we create a custom piece, you’re not limited to a small “standard” stone selection—we can work with nearly any gemstone you can imagine. That includes natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds, as well as a wide range of natural colored gemstones. We can also source lab-grown and imitation colored gemstone options when you want a specific look, a tighter budget, or a durable everyday-wear choice. If you want something truly unique, we can provide custom-cut stones and specialty sourcing in specific shapes, sizes, and hard-to-find colors. We also love working with sentimental customer-owned gemstones: we can set heirloom stones exactly as they are—keeping original vintage wear to preserve the story and character of a cherished family stone—or we can repolish or recut them to a bright, refreshed finish before setting them into a brand-new custom design.
For select custom pieces, we offer wax prints for approval before your item is finished. This step lets you see the design in real life and physically hold it—so you can see the size, proportions, and overall presence of the piece before we cast it in metal and set stones. Once you approve the wax, we move forward with final production. It’s a great way to make sure your custom design feels exactly right before it becomes the finished piece.
